Bring your ideas to life on the materials that make the most impact. With state-of-the-art direct-to-substrate digital printing, Graphic Impact prints vivid, durable graphics on plastics, glass, and acrylic—perfect for full-color signs, professional name tags, stunning awards, and so much more. Because we manufacture in-house here in Tucson, you get fast turnaround, consistent quality, and personal support from concept to installation.
What Is Direct-to-Substrate Digital Printing?
Direct-to-substrate (often called UV flatbed) printing lays ink directly onto your material—no vinyl layer required. UV-curable inks are instantly cured with light, producing sharp detail and excellent color on rigid and semi-rigid surfaces. We can print full color, add opaque white for clear or dark materials, and even create multilayer prints for special effects such as second-surface (reverse) printing on clear acrylic or glass for extra depth and protection.
Materials We Print On
Our equipment is designed to handle a wide range of sheet and panel materials commonly used in signage, displays, and identification products:
- Acrylic (clear, frost, colors) — premium look for awards, plaques, and lobby signs.
- Glass panels — second-surface graphics for a sleek, architectural finish.
- Plastics — including polycarbonate (Lexan®), PETG, PVC (Sintra®), ABS, and styrene.
- Corrugated plastic (Coroplast®) — lightweight and economical for short-term signage.
- Composite sheets — great when you need higher rigidity without extra weight.
What We Make: From Name Tags to Architectural Features
Whether you need one personalized name tag or a building-wide sign package, we print and fabricate pieces tailored to your space, brand, and budget:
- Full-color signs & panels for offices, retail, healthcare, and education.
- Name tags & badges with variable data (names, titles, departments).
- Awards & plaques in clear or colored acrylic with dimensional effects.
- Wayfinding & room IDs for clean, consistent navigation across facilities.
- Menu boards, product displays, table-top signs and point-of-purchase panels.
- Backlit graphics on acrylic or polycarbonate for vivid illumination.
Design & Color Capabilities That Pop
Expect crisp type, smooth gradients, and rich, brand-accurate color. On clear materials, we can print white as a base for full opacity or selectively use it to create “window-cling”-style reveals. Need double-sided graphics on glass? We can build multi-layer files so front and back align perfectly. Our team is happy to assist with file setup for spot white layers, bleeds, and edge-to-edge prints.
Durability, Protection & Finishes
Because the ink bonds directly to the surface, you get a tough graphic with excellent scratch and fade resistance. For high-touch or outdoor environments, we offer protective options such as second-surface printing (ink behind the material), clear laminates, or specialty coatings. The result: longer-lasting color, easier cleaning, and a premium, professional finish.
Cutting, Shaping & Mounting
Printing is just the start. We route, laser-cut, and polish edges for custom shapes, badges, and award silhouettes. Mounting choices include stand-offs, French cleats, adhesive backers, magnetic backs for name tags, and hardware kits for wall or glass installations. Need holes, slots, or rounded corners? We’ll finish your pieces to spec so they’re ready to install.
Any Quantity—With Fast Local Turnaround
Digital printing shines for short runs, prototypes, and one-of-a-kind personalization—without setup charges or minimums. When you’re ready to scale, we easily expand to larger batches while keeping color and quality consistent. Because everything is produced locally, your schedule isn’t at the mercy of distant vendors.
Popular Use Cases (and Why They Work)
- Lobby & reception branding: Acrylic or glass delivers a modern, polished look.
- Retail merchandising: Lightweight plastic panels change out quickly with seasonal campaigns.
- Healthcare & education: Cleanable, durable signage stands up to daily traffic.
- Events & recognition: Custom acrylic awards make memorable, photo-ready moments.
- Manufacturing & control panels: Polycarbonate overlays resist abrasion and frequent use.
Artwork Prep: Make It Easy
Send vector files (AI, PDF, SVG) for the sharpest type and logos, or high-resolution PNG/JPG for photos. If you’re printing on clear or colored materials, include a separate spot-color layer for white ink where needed; if not, we’ll create it for you. Our team checks sizing, bleeds, and legibility so your final piece looks fantastic at viewing distance.

FAQs
Can you print white on clear acrylic or glass?
Yes. We print opaque white as a base or design element so colors stay bright and readable on clear or dark materials.
Is second-surface printing available?
Absolutely. We print on the back of clear acrylic or glass so the ink is protected behind the material, creating depth and a premium look.
Do you offer variable data for name tags?
Yes. Provide a spreadsheet with names, titles, and departments and we’ll merge it into your layout for fast, consistent production.
What’s the typical turnaround?
Most projects are completed quickly thanks to local, in-house production. Share your timeline and we’ll confirm a schedule.
