by Graphic Impact – Where Innovation Meets Impressions

At Graphic Impact, we take pride in our ongoing collaboration with Pima County, one of Southern Arizona’s most prominent municipal institutions. Our team has been honored to work on a wide range of projects over the years, helping the county enhance its facilities with functional, accessible, and visually compelling signage and branding. One of our most significant and recent contributions was the completion of signage and environmental graphics for the new Pima County Courthouse.

ADA-Compliant and Braille Signage for the Courthouse

Accessibility is a core principle of modern public architecture, and Graphic Impact was trusted to deliver compliant, high-quality signage throughout the new courthouse facility. Our team provided hundreds of ADA-compliant signs, including tactile lettering and Braille to assist visually impaired visitors. These signs are designed to meet federal and state regulations while maintaining a consistent, professional aesthetic throughout the building.

Our design team also worked closely with county architects and project managers to ensure seamless integration with the building’s modern interior. From courtroom identifiers to directional signage, our team delivered solutions that support accessibility and enhance the visitor experience.

Outdoor Branding and Building Identification

Graphic Impact was also responsible for the exterior branding and identification signage for the courthouse. These signs serve multiple purposes: they communicate the building’s purpose, support wayfinding, and reinforce Pima County’s professional image. Large-scale outdoor signs were designed for durability, readability, and visibility from various approach points—an important factor for visitors unfamiliar with the area.

Using UV-resistant materials and custom metal finishes, our exterior signs are built to withstand Arizona’s harsh climate while maintaining a polished appearance for years to come.

Wayfinding and Mapping Solutions

Effective wayfinding is essential in government buildings where people may be under stress or short on time. Graphic Impact developed custom wayfinding systems, including directory maps and directional arrows that simplify navigation through the multi-story courthouse facility. Each sign was strategically placed based on user experience studies and insights into traffic flow through the building.

We also designed informational maps that highlight key areas such as courtrooms, waiting areas, restrooms, and elevators. These maps are printed in high resolution and protected by durable, non-glare finishes for easy readability under various lighting conditions.

Collaborative Design Process

One of the hallmarks of our relationship with Pima County is collaboration. For the courthouse project, Graphic Impact was involved from the early planning stages, offering design assistance and expert recommendations for material selection, layout, and compliance. Our input helped avoid common signage issues that can arise when design and production are disconnected. By working closely with architects, contractors, and county representatives, we ensured a unified design language from start to finish.

We also presented multiple mockups and prototypes for review, helping stakeholders visualize the finished product before installation. This collaborative approach saved time and improved satisfaction at every stage of the project.

More Than Just the Courthouse

Our partnership with Pima County extends far beyond the courthouse. Over the past two decades, we’ve completed projects at numerous county facilities including libraries, parks, community centers, health clinics, and transportation hubs. Whether it’s durable aluminum signage for park trails, large banners for community outreach, or interior signs for health and wellness centers, our team consistently delivers results that meet the county’s needs and expectations.

This ongoing relationship speaks to the trust that Pima County places in Graphic Impact’s expertise, reliability, and attention to detail.

Every public space has its own unique needs—and our team is equipped to handle them all. From engraved plaques that commemorate historical milestones to large wall graphics that share public health information, Graphic Impact offers versatile solutions that support Pima County’s mission to serve its residents.
